The Sony PRS 505 eBook Reader
The Sony PRS 505 eBook Reader made its debut in 2007, replacing previous models of the Sony ebook Reader. A few notable advancements were made with this model, while other features remained unchanged. Sony continues to lead the industry with their newest model, offering the consumer a better reading experience. If you are still looking for that perfect ebook Reader, you may not have to look any further than Sony's newest addition to the line.
The Sony PRS 505 eBook Reader continues to use the 6" E Ink display featured on previous models, but utilizes advanced Vizplex imaging film which provides faster refresh rates, a brighter white state, and 8-level grayscale. A more streamlined build makes the new model easier to carry. It also offers upgraded memory function, with 256MB internal memory rather than the 64MB offered in previous models. The memory expansion enables the Reader to hold 160 books, opting for a memory stick or SD card can increase that number to 1000.
Navigation is a breeze with the Sony PRS 505 eBook Reader. Two buttons located at the bottom of the screen allow you to turn pages, access the main menu, or delete a book. The lithium-ion battery allows for up to 68,000 page turns per charged battery. A USB port makes it easy to connect with your PC or laptop. With a resolution of 170 dpi, and 8-level grayscale, the screen is crisp and bright, and allows for a minimum font size of 6 pt. The Reader is available in four different case colors: dark blue, silver, Sangria red, and custom.
Sony continues its tradition of reliability and innovation with the upgraded PRS 505 e-book Reader. It's stylish, lightweight, and its improved functions are sure to make it the ideal gift for yourself or any book lover on your list.
